Have you ever milked a camel?

 

Camel milk is the milk source for those living in the desert areas of Kenya.

Last year our Sunday School children gave enough money ($900) to purchase three milk cows for our native missionaries in the Kenya area of Africa. However, cows cannot survive in the desert area, but camels function very well in the Kenya desert area, so camel milk is the main source of milk for some of our missionary families.

This year our mission gifts for November and December will be used to purchase camels as our "Manger Gift" to support native missionaries in the Kenya desert area where Pastor Claude Houge is a missionary. He is one of several missionaries who are supported by Christ Lutheran Church.

Christ Lutheran Sunday School is an integral part of the educational ministry of Christ Lutheran Church.  Our mission is to spread God's Word to all children of the congregation, young and old. Through the teaching of His Word on Sunday mornings we teach and reach out with God's love. We become a family of teachers and students in Christ.

TIME: 
Christ Lutheran Sunday School meets every Sunday from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. There are a few exceptions to this time when a holiday or special Sunday offers a Special Family Service for the Whole Congregation at 9:30 a.m.

• Rally Day: This service is held on the last Sunday before Labor Day weekend. In 2004 that service will be held on August 29 at the 8:00 a.m. service. This is a special "Celebrate Sunday School" service. Sunday School Rally Day activities follow immediately after the service.
  
• Promotion Sunday: The beginning of the new Sunday School year, called Promotion Sunday, occurs the first Sunday after Labor Day. This year it is September 12, 2004. On that day students are to move to their new classes for the 2004-2005 Sunday School year.

SCHOOL ACCESS:
Classes are held at Christ Lutheran School in assigned rooms appropriate for the students' age level. Entrance to the building is at the south doors. The doors are opened at 9:10 a.m. each Sunday morning. Assistance to find the proper room is available there.

HANDICAPPED ACCESS:
The school entrance on the west side by the Biblical Garden is handicapped accessible.

REGISTRATION:
We welcome and encourage all members of Christ Lutheran and any other children desiring to be part of our Sunday School family to attend. Upon arrival at Sunday School the Sunday School superintendent or assistant will ask you basic information concerning your child to assure placement in an appropriate classroom.
