Instrumental

Christ Lutheran has been blessed with a growing number of musicians who enjoy playing their instruments for our special worship services. Some of the instruments played include:

  • Trumpet
  • Trombone
  • Saxophone
  • Violin
  • Clarinet
  • Flute
  • Oboe
  • Timpani
  • Baritone
  • French Horn

Instruments have a unique way of transforming church music into very festive, upbeat and meaningful music in a way the organ or piano cannot. Moreover, playing instruments in a choir or even solo or small ensemble provides a great experience to develop musical skills outside of the classroom.

Here is some general information about the instrumental choir:

• Practices are seasonal, usually weekly rehearsals for three weeks prior to performance day
• Practices are at the church (or in the Chapel)
• Usually play for Reformation, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter and Pentecost

You may also wish to play your instrument outside of an instrumental choir. This happens frequently and you are welcome to help in this way!
