Music Education at Christ Lutheran
Music is an art not often learned by students anymore. At Christ Lutheran we believe that like other arts and forms of entertainment, music is a gift of God. And so there are numerous ways in which music is taught here, at the church, in worship and in our day school.

2. If you are interested in organ lessons, contact our Director of Music. A knowledge and fair level of experience with piano/keyboard skills is required.
3. Read the “About the Organ Music” in the front part of the worship bulletin to find descriptions of the organ music being used in that worship service.
4. The Basics of Music is a two-year curriculum taught at our day school to the seventh and eighth grade non-band students. Students learn about seven areas: a history of Western music to the present, basic music theory, listening skills, choral and instrumental, how music affects us and how we can establish guidelines for selecting worshipful music, the music at Christ Lutheran, and understanding our Lutheran worship. If you are interested in such a class yourself, contact our Director of Music.
5. The Development of Lutheran Worship and Music is a by-request class that tracks music from Genesis through the Old Testament worship, into the New Testament, post-apostolic times, Reformation and Post-Reformation eras and into the current day. The material also goes deeply into a theology of worship, digs into music/worship issues of our day, then concludes by closely examining the Lutheran worship service and its time-tested structure.
