Purpose of Confirmation Ministry: Confirmation is a part of the lifelong pastoral and educational ministry of the church that is designed to equip baptized children to identify with the life and mission of the Church, through Word and Sacrament Ministry. This affirmation of faith is celebrated in a public rite where the confirmand receives the cross of Jesus Christ, confesses the faith given in baptism, and participates through the Church in sharing God’s Word and love with the world.
