Pastoral Staff
Pastor Chip Winter, Director of Ministries cwinter@clnorfolk.org
As the Director of Ministry I’m responsible for the administration of the staff of Christ Lutheran and all the ministry that takes place in Church, School and Helping Hands Child Care. As a pastor, I’m called to share the Word of God and His Sacraments with people on behalf of the congregation, helping them to live as God’s sons and daughters. That sharing of the word usually involves preaching, leading worship, teaching, counseling and visiting the members in their times of illness, in their concerns and in their joys.

Pastor Leon Rosenthal, Associate Pastor lrosenthal@clnorfolk.org
The Triune God through the Church calls the Associate Pastor to serve God’s people in the Office of Word and Sacrament ministry. The Associate Pastor is a shepherd under the Good Shepherd, in partnership with the Director of Ministry, responsible for praying for, nourishing, preaching the Gospel, teaching Scripture, baptizing, marrying God’s people as well as comforting the bereaved, visiting the sick, guiding the afflicted, and leading God's people in faithful witness to the coming Lord. The Associate Pastor here at Christ Lutheran Church is given special focus in directing Confirmation ministry, missionary outreach in the Servants of the Savior, and Lutherans for Life.

Chad Bryant, Helping Hands Childcare Director cbryant@clnorfolk.org
I manage the staff, billing, and overall day-to-day operations of Helping Hands Childcare. I am also blessed to work with the wonderful children in our care on a daily basis. Our goal is to provide a Christ centered and loving environment to the families of our community.

Angel Gillespie, Director of Christian Education Intern agillespie@clnorfolk.org
As an intern I have the opportunity to work within a congregation for a year, learning about the educational ministries from our Pastors, DCE, staff, and volunteers. I have the opportunity to work with, both, the Junior High and Senior High ministries, as well as Young Adult and Evangelism ministries. Within all of these ministry areas I’m learning how they are a part of the church’s overall mission and purpose.

Starla Landkamer, Stephen Ministry Leader slandkamer@clnorfolk.org
"Bear ye one another’s burdens…" (Gal. 6:2a) As a trained Stephen Ministry Leader, conducting regular supervision and training meetings for Christ Lutheran’s active Stephen Ministry team, as well as the assignment of Care Receivers, receives the highest priority. Our one-on-one ministry is a vital link in the ministry of our congregation to provide care to those who are dealing with a difficult time in their life or merely need words of encouragement.

Lisa Moreno, Children's Ministry Coordinator lmoreno@clnorfolk.org
As Children's Ministry Coordinator, I am called to serve as the director of Sunday school and Vacation Bible school. I also work with several other boards and groups in the church who serve our children and their families to provide opportunities for the nurturing of faith in our youngest members.

Jared Stiek, Director of Christian Education jstiek@clnorfolk.org
Serving as a DCE in this congregation I have the privilege of working with a great variety of ministries and individuals. My roles include leading our senior high youth ministry, teaching confirmation classes, planning worship services, directing the handbell choir, accompanying worship services, and a host of other opportunites within our educational and music ministries. It is a joy to serve among the body of Christ here in this congregation.

Steve Stortz, Christ Lutheran School Principal sstortz@clnorfolk.org
"Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it." (Proverbs 22:6) It is my privilege to work with God’s children each day as the teachers and I partner with their families to lead them into a closer relationship with Jesus their Savior. Each day children in Preschool through Grade 8 begin their day in God’s Word, and continue to learn about the world He created from a Christian perspective.

Susan Warneke, Director of Music swarneke@clnorfolk.org
"Let every creature praise the Lord" sums up my tasks of preparing the congregation to worship their Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. It is my great joy to plan worship services with other staff members and to work with musicians of all ages, from singers to ringers to instrumentalists.
